operation instructions

In my world things are not easy. I always think ahead and try to solve any future issue. That's exacly the case when you know you have to be operated on and all things go wrong.
First of all, a short course on how to manage administrative clerks needs to be attended. Then, you need to pretend everything's ok (when it's not) with the surgeon's secretary (the one who caused all the trouble because the surgeon is allowed to operate people on certain medical plans and she never mentioned that). Of course, a phone call to the medical plan sales executive is required in order to obtain a change of plan. The medical company will make a [super] exception once they realize it's not the patient's fault. But it goes on: you need a new order to be admitted at hospital, which means you've to travel 45' just for a piece of paper (fax machines are my favourite items these days). The same secretary who made all the wrong moves says I need the original order for my admission (something I can't believe, is the surgeon coming to my surgery? will you please ask him to take it with him?).
Finally, a phone call to the private clinic is required to confirm that everything's set. Guess what? The authorized order (no need for the original one, they assure me) has not been sent to them. Now I've to deal with the fax sender!
[and there are some days still to go before I get operated. Imagine what may happen...]

dog eats bread

No pictures available, but imagine: my dog sits under the table (meaning something bad has just occurred, bad dog!). Standing at the hall, I realize that some shopping bags are still there. I put them in the kitchen. I start sorting things and then I see it, the bread bag is literally in shreds. The remains of the loaf look as dough kneaded by a toddler.
Good choice, I think a moment later, it' s the loaf I use to hide her medicine (and that she eats obediently).

phrase

A phrase for those who need to understand: a word to the wise is sufficient.
Say no more.

lemon pie and friends and a thought

After having a great day with friends, sharing a lemon pie I baked, chocolate brownies, tea and an extended conversation, I realized that I´m a very lucky woman for having such wonderful friends.

seen the park?

There's a park in the city that empties my pockets of good memories, nowadays known as the tent park (just crossing the avenue, right in front of the Congress).
Every Friday I have to go past by the park.

moody

A sign on my door would read: Do not trespass. Or I will bite you.
What else can you expect from a woman that lost her mobile (and all her contact data) and that, she was informed, twenty days later, that the second surgeon is in charge of setting the operation date (without informing the patient)? And what about the winter break she had to cancel? And what about the GP told her that she was 10 minutes late to have her blood extracted (when the operation is still pending)?

I'm only human, you know. But lately, I'd like to be a dog (because I'd love to bark at some people, lest to bite quite a few).
Give me a couple of days and I'll tell you if the surgeon apologized for his lack of manners. Otherwise, he'll be operating me with one hand (because I'll keep the other one in my mouth).
Pitbull, would you say?

date to be confirmed

Suppose your telephone starts ringing.
You answer it.
Then a nice man says I'm xx (and you realize five minutes later it's your surgeon). He talks about a date that needs to be confirmed. You say yes.
Then, you check your calendar. You say no no no.
The man, a nice voice on the phone, says, ok.
and passes your long expected surgery to his next patient!

now, I need to call the other surgeon, and check his availability...
